In this 3 day workshop, make a mold out of an object of your choice! Bring an object you wish to replicate or sculpt something in class with wax to make a mold out of.

Foundry Director Zac Ward will guide participants to create a mold out of resin-bonded sand. Participants will build a flask to hold the mold, mix sand, and pack the mold on day one. On day two, remove objects and pour hot metal into your molds. Finally, on the third day, de-mold your object and use tools to clean up your cast object.

Although participation in the aluminum pour is optional, we strongly recommend trying it if you're interested! Help out and you get to pour your own mold- how cool is that?

If you wish to participate in Iron Pours, you must first assist an aluminum pour since iron is hotter and heavier in its molten state. If you prefer to stand back and watch, you are more than welcome to.

Want to cast a larger object? No problem! This class covers up to 100 lb of sand and 4 lb of aluminum for a small to medium-sized mold. Beyond that size, we can bill you for large molds after the class.
